Oldcastle Precast®, Inc. Announces Launch of “Green” Onsite Wastewater System
Hartford City, Indiana - Oldcastle Precast®, Inc. –
Oldcastle Precast®, the Nation’s largest precast concrete supplier, has launched a new and unique onsite wastewater treatment system to the Midwest from their Hartford City, Indiana plant. The product, the Oldcastle Precast® Onsite Wastewater System, features patented Algaewheel™ technology and will be available initially in Indiana, Ohio, Kentucky, Illinois, and Michigan.
Oldcastle’s target markets are onsite wastewater systems for Commercial, Industrial, and Cluster-housing applications. The cutting-edge system will treat high-strength waste, will perform pre-treatment, or can be used for secondary treatment.
“This is a very Green system and we are truly excited to bring it to market” says Steve Kingsland, National Product Manager for Oldcastle Precast®, Inc. “We use energy from the sun and carbon dioxide (a greenhouse gas) that is present in air to grow algae and digest nutrients in the wastewater. In addition, algal growth via photosynthesis produces oxygen!”
Oldcastle Precast® has a national agreement with Indianapolis based Algaewheel, Inc. to bring Algaewheel technology to market as part of onsite wastewater treatment systems. Depending on customer requirements, Oldcastle Precast® will furnish services from design through construction and operation & maintenance. The system is approved and in use in Indiana. Oldcastle is pursuing approval in other states.
